This innovative bio-based transformer oil, developed by a team of Thai researchers, offers a balanced solution that combines cutting-edge technology, operational safety, and environmental responsibility—providing the power industry with a sustainable alternative for the future.
P.S.P. Specialties Public Company Limited has introduced a groundbreaking bio-based transformer oil, developed by the company’s R&D team in partnership with Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited (GGC) and the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC). The goal is to deliver an innovative transformer oil that achieves a perfect balance of operational performance, safety, and sustainability for the power systems of the future.
Formulated from renewable, biodegradable raw materials such as palm oil and soybean oil, the product is free from restricted substances under industrial standards, including PCBs, DBDS, and passivators. Despite its plant-based origin, it retains the essential chemical properties required for high-voltage electrical applications—such as a high flash point, moisture resistance, and operational stability under a wide range of environmental conditions.
PSP’s development approach reflects the research team’s vision to integrate sustainability principles into every stage of the design process—from raw material sourcing and manufacturing to minimizing environmental impact throughout the product’s lifecycle.
The bio-based transformer oil has been rigorously tested to meet international standards and is fully compatible with existing power systems. It is ideal for transformers, converters, and other high-voltage equipment in industrial facilities, urban infrastructure, and environmentally regulated areas.
This initiative marks another proactive step by PSP Specialties as a Thai manufacturer committed to investing in research and development to deliver products that are both engineering-ready and sustainability-focused. The company aims to contribute to the long-term stability and growth of the national power grid while advancing ambitious environmental goals.
